Fine Wine Specialist

The role of the Fine Wine Specialist is to help implement and execute the Sales & Marketing programs for the select market trade accounts that specialize in selling niche, luxury and/or high-margin wines and spirits. The primary goal of the Fine Wine Specialist is to boost incremental business across the Aveniu Brands’ fine wine portfolio. Performance will be measured by accounts sold quality distribution and promotional activity while attaining volume targets within budget.


Strategy Development and Implementation

Implement and execute the fine wine’s portfolio strategy for respective area
Partner with Marketing on fine wine portfolio initiatives
Execute performance targets linked to brand strategies

In-Market Activities and Relationship Development

Work with internal sales team and distributors on high-touch account calls
Develop and Maintain Relationship with the Top On/Off premise Key Accounts; Maintain a Key Account List as Directed on the iPad
Create and/or participate in sales blitzes, winemaker market work and market surveys

 Training & Development

Function as the local expert in wine education training and development for the internal sales team, distributors and key accounts
Provides portfolio training and knowledge to enable our sales team and distributor partners to sell our portfolio effectively
Act as an ambassador for the Spanish and other fine  wine portfolios, ensuring a positive image for the portfolio and the company

 PR and Marketing Activities

Participate in local PR and Marketing events, such as, trade and consumer tastings and host wine dinners


Submit report to Brand Director  and Regional Manager, to include but not limited to market activities, successes, issues weekly but also as they occur and should be share


1. Call on On-Off/Premise Key Accounts to Sell Priority Brands Volume and New Distribution

Progress against depletion and account sold goals for established periods
Tracked per score card

2. Schedule and conduct market events such as in-store tastings, wine dinners, trade and consumer events

Minimum 3 in-store tastings per week
Minimum 1 wine dinner per quarter

3.  Coordinate and schedule/participate in distributor work withs.

Minimum 4 per month to Maximum allowed

4. Maintain a list of active Key On/Off Premise Key Accounts that will be called on for volume and distribution

Top 100 Accounts in the Market


BA/BS degree preferred
Proven Sales Skills
Demonstrated ability in customer management within specific territory
Keen understanding of the three-tier distribution system
Proven experience and strong abilities in educating and motivating others to manage business effectively
Strong knowledge/Passion for the fine wine category
Excellent communication skills; very articulate with strong public speaking ability/experience and excellent writing skills
Proficient  in Microsoft Office
Excellent organizational/project management skills
Proven track record in team performances
Willingness and ability to travel to key accounts for which responsible
Ability to lift 40-70 pounds as required
Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record
Speak Spanish preferred but not required
